The Barfleet Corp of Engineers are responsible for building, storing, and transporting the ships equipment. It is a thankless job filled with bruised thumbs, a tool belt of gum and duct tape, and many many cold sticky unknown liquids invading previously unexplored bodily crevices. Ironically, this could also describe the medical bay.
